Service Description

Intended for – Delegates who are looking to gain general working at height knowledge and practice utilizing basic fall arrest equipment such as, full body harness and fall arrest lanyards, along with various other fall arrest and safety methods in a variety of environments. Introduction – This course is aimed at delegates who need to work at height within their place of work to allow them to comply with their employers’ duties and relevant legislation and regulations. This course will focus on the use of a full body harness and associated fall arrest equipment that will enable the user to safely work at height in their given environment. Content Knowledge: Legislation and regulations surrounding working at height Working at height hierarchy Risk Assessments Climbing PPE inspection and use Common hazards when working at height Emergency procedures Climbing techniques Fall arrest methods including temporary measures The need for a rescue plan Practical Skills: Demonstrate good Pre-use inspection of basic climbing PPE The safe use and correct fitting of a full body harness The safe use of fall arrest lanyards and work positioning Restraint techniques Temporary systems Demonstrate safe climbing techniques Entry Requirements: Delegates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to take part in the course. No prior experience is required. The weight limit for this course is 136kg (300lbs) Unfortunately any delegate over this weight will not be able to take part due to weight restrictions set out by the harness and fall arrest manufacturers. All delegates must be able to certify they are physically fit and have no medical conditions that might prevent them working at height prior to commencement of training. Circet UK Training Academy reserves the right to exclude unsuitable delegates from training courses. Assessment Method: This course consists of two main assessments. Theory assessment and the practical assessment, which will be used to measure the delegates competency. A theory and practical assessment will be completed at the end of the climbing element and the same for the rescue element. However, all delegates are subject to ongoing assessment throughout the course to ensure progression. Certification: On successful completion of this course. The delegate will receive a Safe Working at Height certificate valid for 3 years

Cancellation Policy

Circet endeavours to meet specified training dates, and reserves the right to alter dates subject to operational constraints: • Where a course is cancelled by the Academy, a full refund or course transfer shall be offered In the event that a delegate is unable to attend a booked training course, the Booking Form cancellation terms apply: • Cancellation prior to the commencement of training shall incur the following charges: • Between 14 and 7 working days: 50% course cost chargeable • Within 7 days: 100% course cost chargeable • All cancellations must be made in writing (email). In the event of non-attendance on the day of training, the full cost of training shall be chargeable • Delegates who fail to complete a course shall be charged at the full rate
